Subject: LW user groups around MA?

Any one know of any Lightwave User groups around the Boston, MA area?
I seem to recall stumbling across a message a while back regarding the
user group at System Eyes in NH? Can anyone give me more details on that?
Thanks...
On another note...
How difficult would it be to add a flare effect that simulates a
reflector based lightsource such as a flashlight, car headlight, or helicopter
searchlight? For instance, when a helicopter's searchlight is oriented 45
degrees away from the camera the flare (and glow) is much smaller than if the
light were pointed straight at the lens. Currently, I ramp the Flare Intensity
as the searchlight directs itself into the camera.
I was thinking a button and string selector that allows the user to
input an angle much like the Soft Edge angle. LW would then progressively ramp
the flare within the specified angle range as the lightsource becomes oriented
with the lens. Is this making any sense?
I guess it's just something to make the effect easier. I wouldn't want
to manually ramp, say, twenty sources by eye...
I think I had another idea, but it's late and I must get back to work
on a reel, and I've fresh run out of habanero boosters (tm) ;)
